The People’s Republic of Komedy brings you Laff Hole with Kevin Clarke and Travis Vogt.  Kevin and Travis started out as a sketch duo where they performed on their monthly production of “The Entertainment Show.”  Since then they’ve gone on to co-star, write, direct and produce their own full-length feature film staring a number of Seattle comedians, “Steel of Fire Warriors,” as well as several other remarkable and uproarious short films showcasing their mastery of low-brow humor. Honestly, one’s never been so talented at making stupid brilliant. These guys are freaking magicians.

Recognized by the Stranger Genius Awards, their work was called, “f*cking ridiculous and actually funny. “Do more, dudes!” The Stranger said. “Do more!”

Laff Hole brings celebrated comedian Gabriel Rutledge to the Chop Suey on April 3rd. A past winner of the prestigious Seattle International Comedy Competition, Gabriel has made television appearances on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, the nationally syndicated Comedy.TV, and Nickelodeon’s Nickmom Night Out. He is also a frequent guest on the Bob and Tom radio show, heard in over 150 cities.

Don’t worry if you confuse Eddie Pepitone’s comedy with the teachings of a philosopher who loves to shout obscenities. Pepitone isn’t afraid to call people– starting with himself– out on their flaws, addictions, bullshit, and hypocrisies. Seattle comedy fans should get ready to subscribe to Eddie’s school of thought as he takes the Laff Hole stage in late February.

Not only will he be doing stand up, but while he’s here he will be showing his new documentary The Bitter Buddha at the Northwest Film Forum:

“Ever been to a famous city and gone on an underground tour with a friend who’s lived there for years? The Bitter Buddha is a side-streets tour through the world of comedy, hosted by names most of us know (Dana Gould, Sarah Silverman, Zach Galifianakis) and spotlighting a comic most people don’t: Eddie Pepitone, secret cornerstone of today’s young comedy tradition. Though he’s never been a household name, Pepitone continues to craft his hilariously livid stage persona. In Buddha, a wide circle of Pepitone’s friends come together to help tell the story of his decades-long ‘rise and fall.’”

Before the shows, get to know Pepitone with some Puddin’ (“the internet’s first live-action one-panel, Monday-Friday comic”), listen to his appearances on podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron, The Mental Illness Happy Hour, and the Todd Glass Show and, of course, check out his stand-up comedy.
